Cozy spot right across from the Art Gallery. Great coffee and cakes, yum!

Horrible place, terrifying story! When our party of seven stepped out of the bitter cold into this quaint-seeming place for a quick bite, it took the staff more than two hours to serve us. We only stayed because they staggered the orders so that some people in our group were long finished eating while others had a long wait ahead of them. (The second person to order was the last to get her food!) Absolutely none of the sandwiches were as described on their menu. Even the espresso machine wasn't working. After this lengthy ordeal we got up to leave and one of the staff members told me my drink did not cost the $1.00 as printed on their menu, but rather $3.75 and I needed to pay the difference immediately. Only then did I complain about the poor food and appalling service, declining to pay extra on only their word. At this point a man who looked to be in his 70's jumped from behind the counter shouting So what? I did not force you to eat it! and demanding that I pay. I was definitely not about to pay at this point and turned to leave. Incredibly, the guy jumped in front of me, violently shoving me into the door frame, blocking us all from leaving, screaming at the top of his lungs Call the police! Call the police!. I was about to get physical with him, but another member of our group stepped forward and, exchanging harsh words, handed him the couple of bucks. At first I was upset with my friend for doing this, since I was sorry to see these unethical business people essentially steal from us, but it was probably best just to get away from this wretched place without further incident. This place certainly tops my all time worst list. I'm in the process of reporting them to the Chamber of Commerce/Better Business Bureau. Needless to say, if you actually believe that a business should treat you with a modicum of respect, NEVER, EVER go there!
